went to pulau ubin for Adventure Training Camp on friday and i was sick. i was like, "i want to go" but awhile, i felt tired and "i didn't want to go". in the end i still went for the camp. everyone was dreading it because of all the comments from our seniors that the people there were sadist, it was a torture camp etc. but somehow i think it was even slacker then all the other NPCC camps. anyway, back to the camp..
Day 1 fall in at 2.30pm in school, then took a bus to Changi jetty and rode a bumboat to pulau ubin. that was when the torture started. we had to hike our way into the campsite, which seems to be lyk at least 5km?? we had to walk uphill and downhill so many times. when we finally reached the campsite, all of us were cheering. the campsite was not really as i expected, the place looked so new. anyway, we reached our sec2 campsite, the sec2s were separated from the sec3s, and were briefed. then it was the item which i have been aniticipating... tent-pitching! haha. i really looked forward to tent pitching. the 1st time i built a tent, it was a total failure and the 2nd time was totally a success man! i was surprised that i was one the main people building the tent. seriously, it rocks! building a successful tent. so after building our tents we had dinner. after dinner, we had some icebreaker games and we were allowed to go to sleep. it was like damn early for an NPCC camp to end for the day lah. but after that there was sentry duty. the whole group went together, so it wasn't that scary at all. what's more it was lighted everywhere. Day 2 fall in at 6am. while falling in, i felt like vomitting so falled out and went to take a rest but it ended up in to a nap. by the time i woke up i think it was time for ATF. low ropes, rock climbing, maze and the gunner. maze we held hands and went in 4 by 4. faizan was the oni guy. the maze was pitch black lah and we had to find a tennis ball in it. there many soft balls inside and i dared not touch anything because i don't know what was inside, so it was better not to touch. so after we found the tennis ball, we went out. gunner. basically, it was lame. the machine which was supposed to shoot the tennis ball kept jamming up. low ropes not much fun.. but the guy who took us talked alot. pioneering and map reading. which was like.. totally slack??!! we basically learnt all the lashing during pioneering. map reading was just pacing and the silva compass, which TK students have learnt before, so i was like dozing off for one part it. after that, it was lunch. after lunch was pioneering competition. seriously, TK is ENTHU! most of the reps were tksians. anyway, our team won. TEAM A! after that, we had dinner. SERIOUSLY, the camp is very slack. then it was CAMPFIRE! it rocks but its really very short. we had alot of fun there. when we came back from campfire, we were allowed to sleep already and it was like 10+ only?? OMG Day 3 fall in at 6am. had i freaking slack PT, then it was breakfast. after breakfast, we had to unpitch the tents and clean the sheets. had so much fun sia. we were talking and cleaning. it was supposed to be 4 person to 1 sheet and we had like 8-9 persons to 1 sheet. one of the ma'ams saw us and she scolded us, "counciling session ah? can talk and clean the sheet ah?" and she walked away after that, to scold other people. so we carried on our "counsilling session" lor. then me and joan helped to clean the groundsheet that was rejected 18 times. haha. no matter how the boys cleaned, they were still rejected. then the boys wanted to experiement to see if the IC was a sexist. so the boys got me and joan to let the sir check the ground sheet and it was finally accepted! the boys applauded and concluded the sir was a sexist. the sir even helped us to clean abit of the groundsheet when it was still dirty. haha. after cleaning the sheets, we falled in, took our bag and walked to noordin. then it rained, so we had to wait for the rain to become smaller before hiking out to the jetty. the hike was freaking tiring! and going home was all i wanted at that time. but come to think of it, the camp was really slack. |
